The Bold Forester is a well known public house in Albert road Southsea where myself and friends have spent many an entertaining evening there over the last 30 years.
I was commissioned by the landlord in 1999 and I thought a realistic trompe l’ oeil countryside scene would be fitting as a backdrop to the crab apple tree in the garden, in fact, it was so realistic a small bird flew into the wall and knocked itself out, luckily only for a few seconds and then it flew away again.
